Renowned actor Peter Crombie, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of “Crazy” Joe Davola in Seinfeld’s fourth season, has passed away at the age of 71.

The news of Crombie’s death was shared by his ex-wife, Nadine Kijner, through social media on Wednesday morning. Although Kijner confirmed a brief illness as the cause, she did not provide additional details. In an Instagram post accompanied by poignant photos from their wedding day, Kijner expressed her shock and extreme sadness, bidding farewell to her ex-husband. “Fly free into the Un-boundless source of light, Peter. May you be greeted with love by your parents and Oliver. So many people loved you because you were a kind, giving, caring, and creative soul,” she wrote.

Crombie’s illustrious career included his standout role as “Crazy” Joe Davola on Seinfeld in 1992, a character whose antics terrorized and threatened Jerry Seinfeld across a five-episode plotline. Later, in 1997, he showcased his versatility by portraying Frankenstein’s Creature in the miniseries House of Frankenstein.
Crombie’s television repertoire extended to an array of shows, such as Perfect Strangers, American Playhouse, As the World Turns, H.E.L.P., Law & Order, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, L.A. Law, L.A. Firefighters, Picket Fences, NYPD Blue, and Walker, Texas Ranger.
