Travis Fimmel was born near Echuca, Victoria, Australia. After high school, he was accepted into RMIT University in Melbourne to study commercial architecture and engineering but later deferred to travel abroad.

In 2010, Travis Fimmel portrayed a compassionate cowboy in Pure Country 2: The Gift. He played fugitive Mason Boyle in two episodes of NBC’s 2010 action-adventure Chase.
Travis Fimmel was regarded as “the most in-demand male model in the world”. Fimmel played the role of a forensic photographer in the Australian horror film Needle in 2010.
