Icon of the Seas is around 6% bigger than Utopia of the Seas in terms of gross tonnage (internal volume) 12. Icon of the Seas has two extra passenger decks and a higher capacity too.

Utopia of the Seas will still be one of the biggest ships in the world when she launches in 2024, but the Icon Class, led by Icon of the Seas, is the biggest.
Icon of the Seas is the newer ship, and it is scheduled to enter service on January 27, 2024, out of PortMiami in the US ¹. Utopia of the Seas was built in 2024 and is part of the Oasis Class.

The next ship after Icon of the Seas is Star of the Seas, which is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2025. Star of the Seas will be the second ship in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class, following Icon of the Seas.
Icon of the Seas is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG). However, the engines can be powered with both LNG and distillate fuel. The $2 billion vessel is set to deliver unparalleled experiences and memories to its passengers later in January.
