Icon of the Seas has 20 decks in total, including 18 that passengers can access. The ship is as long as three and a half football fields, meaning that it takes almost 15 minutes to walk from one end of the ship to the other.

Icon of the Seas is equipped with 17 lifeboats with the capacity for up to 450 people. This means that the ship has room for 7,650 people, despite its capacity for 7,960.
Icon of the Seas is owned by Royal Caribbean International, a global cruise vacation company that operates a fleet of 27 innovative ships.

The $2 billion vessel is the first in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class, with two more additions, Star of the Seas in 2025 and another in 2026, on the horizon.
Icon of the Seas is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG). However, the engines can be powered with both LNG and distillate fuel. According to the company, the ship has the tallest waterfall, the tallest water slide, and the largest waterpark.
On 13 December 2023, it was revealed that Icon of the Seas will be christened by Lionel Messi. The ship departed Cadiz on 23 December 2023 for Puerto Rico, before heading to Miami, FL for her inaugural voyage.
