Icon of the Seas is the lead ship of the Icon class, which is Royal Caribbean’s newest class of cruise ships. The ship is scheduled to enter service on January 27, 2024, out of PortMiami in the US.

Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world, with a gross tonnage of 248,663 GT. It is the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class. On 13 December 2023, it was revealed that Icon of the Seas will be christened by Lionel Messi.

The ship’s AquaDome neighborhood is an architectural marvel with a 55-foot-tall water curtain and 220° of ocean views. The $2 billion vessel is set to deliver unparalleled experiences and memories to its passengers later in January.

The ship departed Cadiz on 23 December 2023 for Puerto Rico, before heading to Miami, FL for her inaugural voyage. The ship has 28 different room types, including Royal Caribbean’s first Family Infinite Balconies and the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.

Icon of the Seas was designed by a team of architects and designers, including notable cruise ship designer Wilson Butler Architects, 3Deluxe, RTKL, Gensler, and Skylab Architecture.
