Arthur Fils Parents: Meet Jean-Philippe and Anne Fils

Arthur Fils, the rising star in the world of professional tennis, owes much of his sporting journey to the inspiration and guidance of his parents, Jean-Philippe and Anne Fils.

Born in Bondoufle, located in the department of Essonne near Paris, in the Île-de-France region, Arthur Fils was introduced to the world of tennis at a tender age of 5, with his father, Jean-Philippe, playing a pivotal role in nurturing his early passion for the sport.

Jean-Philippe, himself having a notable affinity for sports, particularly excelled in basketball before finding a shared love for tennis with his son. Arthur Fils commenced his tennis journey under the mentorship of his father, cultivating skills and a love for the game that would later propel him onto the professional stage.

Licensed at the tennis club of Saint-Michel-sur-Orge, Arthur’s journey took a significant turn when he transitioned to training at the French National Training Center (indoor) of the French Tennis Federation, located adjacent to the iconic Stade Roland Garros, in 2019.

Under the guidance of coach Laurent Raymond, Arthur Fils has continued to hone his skills and make a name for himself in the competitive world of professional tennis. His dedication and hard work have borne fruit, leading to a remarkable career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 36, achieved on 30 October 2023.

Beyond his individual accomplishments, Fils has also achieved a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 459 on 18 July 2022, showcasing his versatility on the court. In 2023, he secured his first ATP Tour singles title in Lyon, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
