James Morrison is the son of Paul Catchpole and Suzy Catchpole. There isn’t much information about his parents on the internet however, his parents have been supportive of his music career.

Hailing from the town of Rugby, Warwickshire, Morrison’s journey into the world of music was influenced by his parents’ eclectic record collection. His mother’s love for soul and his father’s affinity for folk and country laid the foundation for Morrison’s diverse musical palette.

His uncle Joe played a pivotal role in introducing him to the blues, teaching him the guitar and sparking a passion that would define his life.
Morrison’s teenage years were marked by busking in the vibrant atmosphere of Porth, Newquay, Cornwall. Practising his guitar on the promenade overlooking Porth beach, he found solace and inspiration in the ocean breeze. As he embraced his musical calling, Morrison began crafting his compositions, transitioning from covering others’ songs to creating his unique sound.
