Together with his wife Adrienne Nesser, the Armstrongs have two sons who have carved their own paths in the world of music – Joseph Marciano “Joey” Armstrong and Jakob Danger Armstrong.

Their firstborn, Joseph Marciano “Joey” Armstrong, entered the world on February 28, 1995, bringing an abundance of joy and a familial rhythm to the Armstrong household. Following in his father’s footsteps, Joey pursued a career in music, showcasing his drumming talents.

He became a key member of the Oakland-based band SWMRS, where his rhythmic prowess contributed to the band’s sonic landscape. However, his journey in the spotlight faced challenges when accusations of sexual misconduct and coercion were made against him in 2020, leading to a reevaluation of his role in the music industry.

The Armstrong family expanded further with the arrival of their second son, Jakob Danger Armstrong, born on September 12, 1998. Jakob, a guitarist and singer-songwriter, inherited his father’s musical genes and embarked on his own creative journey.

In 2015, he made his mark by releasing his first material online, showcasing a budding talent that would eventually flourish. Currently, Jakob is actively involved with the band Mt. Eddy, where his guitar skills and vocals contribute to the band’s distinctive sound.

In a February 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Billie Joe Armstrong reflected on his sudden marriage and fatherhood, describing himself as very impulsive during that period. He noted that this impulsive behavior was a response to counteract the chaos in his life at the time, adding a personal dimension to his musical journey.
