Dvorak’s dedication and exceptional play in the OHL did not go unnoticed, leading to his selection in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes after the 2013–14 season. On April 18, 2015, he solidified his professional commitment by signing his first contract, a three-year, entry-level deal with the Arizona Coyotes.
In a significant turn of events, on September 4, 2021, Christian Dvorak was traded from the Coyotes to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick.
