Tippi Hedren’s real name is Nathalie Kay Hedren. Her father gave her the nickname “Tippi” when she was a baby, which is Swedish for “little girl”.

Tippi Hedren has appeared in over 80 films and television shows, including Charlie Chaplin’s final film A Countess from Hong Kong (1967), the political satire Citizen Ruth (1996), and the existential comedy I Heart Huckabees (2004).

Tippi Hedren made her unofficial film debut as “Miss Ice Box” in the musical comedy The Petty Girl, and the suspense-thriller The Birds (1963) for which she won a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year was Hedren’s screen debut.
As a successful model during the 1950s and early 1960s, Tippi Hedren appeared on the covers of Life, The Saturday Evening Post, McCall’s, and Glamour, among others.
In 1982, Tippi Hedren co-starred with Leslie Nielsen in Foxfire Light. In 1994, Tippi Hedren appeared in the made-for-cable sequel, The Birds II: Land’s End. From 1994 to 1996, Hedren had a guest-starring role in Dream On.
