Ray Davis is a self-made billionaire who co-founded the natural gas distributor and pipeline company Energy Transfer in 1995. He built the company into a giant and stepped down as co-CEO in 2007 but still owns 2.4% of the publicly traded company.

Energy Transfer operates over 125,000 miles of pipeline that move approximately 30% of America’s oil and natural gas. In addition to his business ventures, Davis is also known for his philanthropic work.

Ray Davis has donated millions of dollars to various charitable organizations, including the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
Ray C. Davis was born on October 15, 1941, in Overton, Texas, in the United States of America. Ray Davis pursued a master’s degree in Business Administration at LeTourneau University’s School of Business.
Ray Davis worked in the energy industry for forty years, until he retired as the CEO of ETP and ETE in 2007. He operates the Dallas-based investment firm, Avatar Investments LP.
