Agatha Christie’s mother, Clarissa Miller, passed away in April 1926. Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE was born on September 15, 1890, in Torquay, United Kingdom. Christie died on 12 January 1976 at age 85 from natural causes.

Agatha Christie’s first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1920), introduced Hercule Poirot. According to UNESCO’s Index Translationum, she remains the most-translated individual author.
