Actress Selma Archerd, known for her roles in various films and TV shows, has passed away at the age of 98. Her death, which occurred just over a week ago, was announced through an obituary posted in the Los Angeles Times. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Described by her family as a “devoted mother and grandmother,” Selma Archerd peacefully passed away on December 14. Tributes on social media have celebrated her as a distinctive character, with fans expressing love for her appearances in vintage TV and movies. Throughout her lengthy career, Selma featured in shows like “Charmed” and “The Brady Bunch” and had a recurring role as Nurse Amy on “Melrose Place” from 1995 to 1999. She played a police officer in the film “Lethal Weapon” (1987) and reprised her role as Officer Selma in the sequel “Lethal Weapon 3” (1992). In the iconic “Die Hard” (1988), she is believed to have portrayed a hostage at Nakatomi Plaza.
Selma’s film credits include “A Very Brady Christmas” (1988), “Indecent Proposal” (1993), “The Brady Bunch Movie” (1995), and “Scrooged” (1988). She was previously married to Howard M. Rosenblum, with their reported divorce in 1968. Later, she married the late columnist Army Archerd in 1969, known for his work in Variety magazine. Army chronicled Hollywood’s inner circle for over 50 years until his retirement in 2005 and passed away in 2009 at the age of 87.
Survived by her “adoring sons” Richard and James, as well as her grandson Ryan, the obituary suggests making memorial donations in Selma Archerd’s memory to the Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF).
