Jay Sean is married to Thara Prashad, an American R&B singer and model. Thara Prashad was born on January 16, 1982, in New Jersey, United States.

Her father is Indo-Guyanese, while her mother is part Irish and part African-American. She started singing at the age of 16 and began taking modeling jobs in the hopes of getting closer to the music industry. She landed a Reebok commercial campaign followed by a Verizon campaign.

Thara would go on to appear in more music and commercial videos, including Jay-Z’s “Excuse Me Miss” in 2003. She met Jay Sean while opening for him at a show in Miami.

They got married in August 2009. Jay Sean and Thara Prashad have two children together: a daughter named Ayva Loveen Kaur Jhooti, born on December 13, 2013, and a son named Aaryan Singh Jhooti, born on August 15, 2018.
