Who is Jackie Swanson, the girl in the opening scene of Lethal Weapon?

Jackie Swanson is an American actress who is best known for her role on the American sitcom Cheers as Kelly Gaines the Rich.

Born June 25, 1963, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States, Swanson made her screen debut in 1985 in the Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” music video.

After making her feature debut in the opening scene of Lethal Weapon in 1987, Swanson moved on to be a casting member of Cheers in the recurring role of Kelly Gaines. Her character was a pretty, wealthy, naïve, Lutheran girl, who would eventually marry Woody Boyd, played by Woody Harrelson.

Following her recurring role in the series Baby Talk in 1991, the Michigan native went ahead to appear on the cover of TV Guide the following year.

In 2002, she appeared in an automotive TV commercial in which she was seen driving a GM vehicle to pick up her husband, who emerged from a submarine that popped through thick ice.

Throughout her acting career, Swanson has played in over 20 movies and television shows.
