Anna Tatangelo, the accomplished Italian pop singer and television personality, was born into a family with a rich heritage, thanks to her parents, Palmira Tatangelo and Dante Tatangelo.

Hailing from Sora, Anna Tatangelo’s family background includes a unique connection to the production of ciambella, a traditional bagel from the Sorana region. Anna’s journey into the world of music began at a young age, showcasing her talent and passion for singing.

At the age of seven, in 1994, Anna Tatangelo embarked on her musical endeavors by participating in various shows, provincial contests, and regional competitions. Her early years were marked by notable achievements, such as securing the second position in the “Minifestival della canzone” of Viterbo in 1999. The following year, she emerged as the winner of the same competition.

As she continued to hone her skills, Anna Tatangelo’s talents were recognized in 2001 when she participated in the concert “La nota d’oro di Blera.” Her success extended to winning the “Bravissimi in tour” stop in Sora and triumphing in the national final of Cassano. Notably, she secured second place in the “Una voce per…” competition and clinched victory at “Castelliri in Musica.”

Anna’s national recognition grew when, at the age of 14, she was selected by Rai for “Girofestival.” This marked a pivotal moment as she presented her first song titled “Dov’e’ il coraggio” (“Where is the Courage”), securing third place in the newcomers section. Her talents were further showcased at the Nuove voci per Sanremo (New Voices of Sanremo) Festival in Gropparello.

The year 2002 marked a significant chapter in Anna Tatangelo’s career as she participated and won the academy’s Song of Sanremo with the song “Angelo of Syria.” This victory earned her a coveted spot in the youth category of the Sanremo Music Festival, solidifying her position as a rising star in the Italian music scene.
