About Paul Goresh

Paul Goresh, a renowned photographer and actor, holds a unique place in history as the last person to capture images of John Lennon before the tragic events of December 8, 1980.

On that day, Goresh was autographing his “Double Fantasy” album for Mark David Chapman, who later infamously took the life of the Beatles’ iconic musician.

Notably, his lens crafted the photograph used for the sleeve of Lennon’s “Watching the Wheels” single, released posthumously in 1981.

Beyond this poignant connection, Goresh made significant contributions to photography and film, with credits in documentaries such as “The Killing of America,” “The Day John Lennon Died,” “Crimes of the Century,” and “Behind the Music.”

Sadly, Goresh passed away on January 9, 2018, leaving behind a rich body of work cherished and scrutinized by enthusiasts and historians alike.
