A noteworthy twist in Ragnow’s NFL narrative came when the Lions strategically shifted him from center to offensive guard.
Ragnow went on to make his mark in the professional arena during the Detroit Lions’ season opener against the New York Jets. Throughout his rookie season, Ragnow demonstrated consistency by starting all 16 games.
In a move emphasizing their long-term vision, the Lions exercised the fifth-year option on Ragnow’s contract in April 2021. Shortly thereafter, Ragnow inked a lucrative four-year contract extension worth $54 million, signaling a mutual commitment between player and team.
However, in October 2021, Ragnow faced a setback, being placed on injured reserve due to a toe injury.
