Lee Jung-jae began his career as a fashion model before transitioning to acting. He made his acting debut in the 1993 television drama “The Scent of Love” and later appeared in the films “The Young Man” (1994) and “The Fox with Nine Tails” (1994).

Lee Jung Jae made his debut on television in 1993. One year later, he was cast in his first film, a feature by Bae Chang-ho. His breakthrough came in late 1998 in the award-winning film An Affair by E-J Yong.
Lee Jung-jae won Best Actor awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for City of the Rising Sun (1999), at the Fantasporto Director’s Week for The Housemaid (2010), and at the Buil Film Awards for Assassination (2015).

Lee Jung-jae has also worked as a filmmaker, directing the films “The Rules of the Game” (2009) and “The Face Reader” (2013). In December 2021, he was selected as Gallup Korea’s Film Actor of the Year.
