George Burns and Gracie Allen adopted two children, Sandra Jean and Ronald Jon Burns, after discovering that they could not conceive on their own. Sandra was born on July 28, 1934, and Ronald was born on July 9, 1935.

The couple agreed to raise the children as Catholics and to permit them to make their own religious choices as adults. George Burns started his career at the age of seven, singing in the Pee Wee Quartet. He formed a comedy duo with his wife Gracie Allen, and played the straight man to her zany roles.

George Burns and Allen transitioned to radio in the 1930s and became one of the most popular radio shows of the time. Burns and Allen made their film debut in 1930 in “The Big Broadcast.”
George Burns and Allen transitioned to television in the 1950s with “The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show.” George Burns is also a member of the Television Hall of Fame, where he and Gracie Allen were inducted in 1988.
