Musical virtuoso Glenn Tipton is currently suffering from Parkinson’s disease. He had received the diagnosis in 2018, and as a result, he had to cut down on his musical activities, including touring with his band Judas Priest.

Joining Judas Priest in May 1974, Tipton’s swift integration into the band coincided with the recording of “Rocka Rolla,” where he seamlessly added his guitar wizardry to the album.

His distinctive guitar work took center stage on “Sad Wings of Destiny,” showcasing a blend of complexity and classical influence on tracks like “Tyrant,” “Dreamer Deceiver,” and the legendary “Victim of Changes.”

Tipton’s impact extended beyond his prowess as a guitarist; he revealed his songwriting finesse with contributions to tracks like “Prelude,” “Epitaph,” and “The Ripper.”

As a testament to his enduring commitment, Tipton, alongside bassist Ian Hill, stands as one of the two members appearing on every studio album in Judas Priest’s illustrious discography.

In 2014, the band unleashed their seventeenth album, “Redeemer of Souls,” accompanied by a globe-spanning tour.

However, in 2018, Tipton faced a personal challenge, disclosing his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

Tipton was rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022.
