In November 2023, Anthea Turner broke the silence, revealing that she and sister Wendy had resumed communication almost by chance. The reasons behind their years-long feud remained shrouded in mystery, with both sisters opting not to delve into the details during a joint appearance on Lorraine.

Despite the lack of explicit explanations, the duo opened up about the unexpected turn of events that led to their reunion. Anthea acknowledged the accidental nature of their reconciliation, stating, ‘It was an accident.’

Wendy, shedding more light on the serendipitous moment, shared that a Whatsapp message intended for their father Brian played a pivotal role. She recounted the incident, saying, ‘I was at mum and dad’s. Mum was still alive. Dad was struggling with Whatsapp on his phone. I sent you [Anthea] a Whatsapp message, and you called dad to say, ”how did you send a whatsapp message?”

It got complicated, so I was like, ”oh give me the phone.” We started talking on the phone and didn’t stop talking.’ The sisters also reflected on the impact of their mother Jean’s passing in May 2022. Jean’s death, attributed to pneumonia at the age of 91, became a catalyst for reconnection.

In a joint chat with OK! Magazine, Anthea emphasized their present closeness, steering clear of dissecting the past. ‘We’re at that time in our lives when we’re at our closest. I believe in taking pleasure in the present and not dissecting the past,’ she stated.
