John Cusack was born into an Irish Catholic family in Evanston, Illinois. His parents are Richard J. “Dick” Cusack, a writer-actor-producer, and documentary filmmaker, and Ann Paula “Nancy” Cusack, a former mathematics teacher and political activist. John has four siblings, including older sisters Ann and Joan, who are also actors, as well as two other siblings, Bill and Susie.

Throughout his career, Cusack continued to take on a variety of roles, ranging from romantic comedies like “Serendipity” (2001) and “Must Love Dogs” (2005) to more dramatic and intense performances in films like “Identity” (2003) and “1408” (2007). He starred as Jackson Curtis in Roland Emmerich’s disaster film “2012” (2009) and portrayed Edgar Allan Poe in “The Raven” (2012).
In addition to his work in mainstream cinema, Cusack has been involved in independent and socially conscious projects. He co-wrote and starred in “Grosse Pointe Blank” (1997), a crime film with comedic elements. Cusack has been outspoken on political issues, expressing anti-war sentiments and criticizing government policies, regardless of political affiliation.
