At present, there is no publicly available information about their identities or their professions. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Roy Nelson ventured through his formative years while attending Cimarron-Memorial High School.

His time in high school was diverse, dabbling in wrestling, football, and baseball. His early martial arts training commenced at a young age, starting with karate before delving into Ark Wong’s Ng Ga Kuen Shaolin Kung Fu by the age of 15.

Before initiating his successful career in mixed martial arts, Nelson worked as a substitute teacher and devoted himself to after-school programs in Clark County for a substantial seven years.

His dedication to martial arts continued to grow, leading him to study under the tutelage of Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Renzo Gracie, who awarded him a black belt on August 26, 2009.

Roy Nelson’s athletic journey included a stint with the Las Vegas Blackjacks, where he played rugby for two seasons between 2002 and 2003.

Nelson’s professional mixed martial arts debut transpired at a tournament on April 17, 2004. Remarkably, he secured victory in the Rage on the River Heavyweight Tournament, winning both of his fights.

His success continued to rise as he amassed a record of 6–1 before earning a spot with the IFL (International Fight League).
