Joan Jett has a younger brother named James Albert Larkin. Their sister is Anne Elizabeth Larkin. Their father was James Francis Larkin, who worked as an insurance salesman, and their mother was Dorothy Mae Jett.

Joan Jett was born in Lankenau Medical Center, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, United States of America. At the age of 16, Joan Jett became a founding member of The Runaways, an all-female rock band. Alongside drummer Sandy West, they created the classic lineup.

Joan Jett is also known for notable songs including “Bad Reputation”, “Light of Day”, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and her covers of “Crimson and Clover”, “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and “Dirty Deeds”.
Joan Jett has a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She has been described as “the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll”. Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
