Joan Jett has several tattoos, each with its own unique meaning. ‘Om’ Tattoo: Inked on the back of her neck, it represents the Hindu symbol for OM, signifying the sound of the universe and bringing peace.

On her upper left arm, Joan Jett has a figure-eight armband with a triangle design above it. Her back features two crossed axes surrounded by flames, which are actually Labryses, Greek double-edged swords.

On her left forearm, Joan Jett has a spiral design emitting light, symbolizing un-manifest consciousness and possibilities. Her left thigh bears a tattoo of a fighter jet diving down, which she got at the age of 16 simply because her last name is Jett.  On her chest, she has an ornate V-shaped swirl with a diamond seed in the middle, representing the divine presence within each of us.

Joan Jett grew up as a tomboy. She was determined to be what she wanted to be, defying societal norms. Her childhood was spent climbing trees, riding bikes, and playing with nearby children who admired her adventurous spirit.

Joan Jett started playing drums and guitar at a young age, teaching herself by studying albums like The Rolling Stones’ “Let It Bleed”.
At 15, she moved out of her family home due to family issues, becoming more independent and forging her path.

Joan Jett is also known for notable songs including “Bad Reputation”, “Light of Day”, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and her covers of “Crimson and Clover”, “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and “Dirty Deeds”.
