Sakura Ando siblings: Meet Momoko Andô

Penance actress Sakura Ando grew up with her sister Momoko Andô, who is an award-winning film director and novelist.

Sakura Ando began her career on a high note. She clinched the prestigious Best Supporting Actress award at the 31st Yokohama Film Festival in 2010.

Her breakthrough came through remarkable performances in films like “Love Exposure,” “The Wonderful World of Captain Kuhio,” and “Tsumitoka batsutoka.”

Notably, the same year, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 4th Asian Film Awards for her role in “A Crowd of Three.”

But Sakura Ando’s prowess extends beyond the big screen. In 2012, she made a significant mark on television with her appearance in Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s drama series, “Penance,” showcasing her ability to captivate viewers in both realms.
