Zanele Situ, the legendary South African African Paralympian athlete, has died unfortunately on November 1, 2023, at the age of52 years. Zanele Situ was an outstanding paralympian who is known to be one of the greatest in the history of South Africa.

Zanele Situ was born in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, on January 19, 1971, and her life took a very sad turn when she was involved in an accident at the age of 12 years. The unfortunate accident left Zanele Situ in a wheelchair as she lost the use of both her legs.

Zanele Situ ventured into sports despite her leg issue and she went on to win two gold medals in the Paralympic Games and one silver and bronze medal in the Paralympic Games.
Zanele Situ’s life story serves is a great motivation to many physically challenged individuals in South Africa especially. Zanele Situ’s legacy lives on despite her death in November 2023.
