However, beyond the helmets and jerseys, there’s a heartwarming story about his journey into parenthood.

In June 2022, Montez Sweat and his partner, Tiana, welcomed their first child, a son named Shiloh. The arrival of Shiloh marked a significant milestone in Sweat’s life, adding a new and profoundly meaningful dimension to his already successful career.

The name “Shiloh” was thoughtfully chosen by the couple, in part because of its Biblical meaning—”heavenly peace.” It reflects the hopes and dreams they have for their beloved daughter.

Becoming a father has had a profound impact on Montez Sweat. In his own words, it has provided him with a new perspective and another “reason to live.”

The experience of parenthood has a way of making individuals reevaluate their own upbringing and the love they received from their own parents. For Sweat, the love he now feels for his child has brought a deeper understanding of the love his parents had for him.

As he shared, “It makes you look back on how you were brought up. And the love that I have now for my child, it’s like — ‘Damn.’ It sort of starts to make sense why your parents love you the way they did. It put the pieces of the puzzle together.”
