Polly Barnes and Wayne Barnes have known each other for a considerable part of their lives. Their story dates back to when Polly was just eleven years old and Wayne was about sixteen.

Their first encounter was in the schoolyard, where Wayne had to show the young Polly around. Despite their early meeting, the exact date of their marriage remains a private affair.

Polly Barnes shared a charming anecdote about her mother’s prediction regarding her future husband. She recalled how her mother had asked Wayne about his aspirations when Polly first met him at school.

Wayne’s response, that he wanted to become a barrister, prompted Polly’s mother to make a bold prediction – that her daughter would one day marry Wayne. At the time, young Polly found the idea “disgusting.” Little did she know that fate had a different plan in store for her.
