Who Was Matthew Perry?

Matthew Perry was an actor whose career spanned both television and film.

Matthew rose to stardom as Chandler Bing, one of the iconic characters in the beloved NBC television sitcom “Friends,” which aired from 1994 to 2004.

Beyond “Friends,” Perry’s talent shone in various roles. He graced the screens in shows like “Ally McBeal,” where he made a memorable appearance in 2002, and received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his performances in “The West Wing” in 2003 and “The Ron Clark Story” in 2006.

His success extended to the big screen, with leading roles in films such as “Fools Rush In,” “Almost Heroes,” “Three to Tango,” “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Serving Sara,” “The Whole Ten Yards,” and “17 Again.”

Matthew faced severe addictions to drugs and alcohol, a battle that ultimately led him down a path of recovery.

Through his own struggles, he became an advocate for rehabilitation and a spokesperson for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

In recognition of his efforts, he was honored with the Champion of Recovery Award by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy in 2013.

Matthew passed away on October 28, 2023. He was aged 54.
