Lawrence H. Summers, a distinguished economist, has a distinguished track record of public service.

He held the prestigious position of the 71st United States Secretary of the Treasury from 1999 to 2001 and later served as the director of the National Economic Council from 2009 to 2010.

Summers’ academic prowess is equally impressive. He assumed the role of President at Harvard University from 2001 to 2006, where he now holds the esteemed title of Charles W. Eliot University Professor.

He also serves as the director of the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard Kennedy School, contributing to the academic and policy landscape.

Her career reached new heights when she led the urban economic department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia from 1971 to 1979.

In 1979, she made history by establishing the first public policy department in a business school at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her leadership continued as she chaired the department from 1983 to 1988.

Summers’ commitment extended beyond academia; she actively contributed to the University’s development, serving on the Provost’s Academic Planning and Budget Committee from 1984 to 1990.

Summers was also a senior research fellow at Wharton’s Samuel Zell and Robert Lurie Real Estate Center.

Her contributions extended into the world of real estate, where she authored and edited several enlightening books and reports.

On October 22, 2023, Summers peacefully passed away at the age of 98.
