Angelo Bruschini: Massive Attack guitarist confirmed dead

Angelo Bruschini, the celebrated guitarist who enriched the sound of Massive Attack, passed away, on 23 October 2023. He was aged 62.

The news of Bruschini’s passing was confirmed by the band “Massive Attack” itself:

“How lucky we all were to share such a life together. Such a brilliant, eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution”, the group confirmed.

Bruschini bravely had earlier revealed that he was battling lung cancer. In a heartfelt post on his Facebook page, he shared, “Had a great life, seen the world many, many times, met lots of wonderful people, but the door is closing, think I will write a book.”

Before his remarkable journey with Massive Attack, Bruschini was a pivotal member of the Bristol rock band, the Blue Aeroplanes.

His collaboration with the band spanned over a decade, starting in 1985 with their album, “Tolerance.”

In 1997, Bruschini’s musical journey led him to join forces with his fellow Bristolians in Massive Attack. He brought his exceptional talent and creativity to the band, becoming an integral part of their signature sound.

Bruschini’s contributions to Massive Attack’s iconic 1998 LP, “Mezzanine,” were instrumental in shaping the album’s dark, atmospheric vibes.

His mastery of the guitar added depth and emotion to the group’s music, making it a classic that continues to be cherished by fans worldwide.

In 2003, Bruschini once again graced the studio with his presence to collaborate on Massive Attack’s “100th Window.”

Bruschini was also a dynamic live performer. He frequently took to the stage as a supporting guitarist during Massive Attack’s tours, further solidifying his role as an indispensable member of the band.
