Founder and former chairman of Seylan Bank, Lalith Kotelawala is a businessman from Sri Lanka. He served as chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated. He appeared on the Richest List of Sri Lanka in 2007.

Kotalawala, the company’s chairman, was charged with theft and financial mismanagement after the Golden Key Creditcard Company, which was connected to Ceylinco Consolidated, went bankrupt.

The Mount Lavinia Magistrate remanded him on February 26, 2009, and gave him ten days to pay back the Rs. 26 billion in deposits that Golden Key Creditcard Company clients had made. The same magistrate had already placed on detention the CEO Khavan Perera, the CFO, and numerous other directors.
Lalith Kotelawala wife: Meet Sicille Kotelawala
Sicille Kotelawala, a child of Sam Peter Christopher Fernando, was the wife of Lalith. At the age of 84, Lalith Kotelawala passed away in Colombo on October 21, 2023. The University of Sri Jayewardenepura conferred an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree to Kotelawala. The Sri Lankan government gave him the title Deshmanya.
