Samantha Woll, the former president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue in Detroit, Michigan, left an enduring legacy of unity and leadership.

Woll’s commitment to young voices was exemplified by her role as co-chair of the American Jewish Committee’s ACCESS Detroit Young Leadership Program.

Her passion for interfaith understanding led her to found the Muslim-Jewish Forum of Detroit, a platform that fostered dialogue and cooperation between these two communities.

In 2017, she received well-deserved recognition when she was selected as one of the “36 under 36” by the Detroit Jewish News, acknowledging her profound impact.

Samantha Woll’s leadership extended to the political arena, serving as the deputy district director on Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin’s campaign from 2019 to 2021.

Her dedication to public service also saw her contribute to Attorney General Dana Nessel’s re-election campaign.

Woll’s commitment to unity reached its zenith in 2015 when, in the wake of the November 2015 Paris attacks, she organized an event at Wayne State University through the Greater Detroit Muslim Jewish Solidarity Council.

In 2022, Samantha Woll embraced a new chapter in her journey when she became the president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, marking a significant milestone in her life of service and leadership.

Unfortunately, Woll’s life was tragically cut short on October 21, 2023, as she was found stabbed in front of her home in Detroit’s Lafayette Park neighborhood. She was only 40 years old.
