Fred is a videographer and met Willis the day she took the Georgia Bar exam.
The duo were married in 1996, but divorced in 2005, after two children.

However, it was her role as the lead prosecutor in the high-profile 2014-2015 trial of twelve educators that brought her to the forefront of public attention.

These educators were accused of manipulating students’ test scores to artificially inflate the results of state-administered standardized tests.
Willis’s relentless pursuit of justice resulted in the conviction of eleven out of the twelve individuals, who were found guilty of racketeering under Georgia’s RICO statute in April 2015.
Her legal acumen and dedication were further recognized when she assumed the position of chief municipal judge for South Fulton, Georgia, in 2019, after venturing into private practice in 2018.
In 2020, Fani Willis achieved a significant milestone when she was elected as the district attorney for Fulton County, becoming the first woman to hold this esteemed office.
In 2023, Willis’ office indicted Trump and 18 others on a total of 41 charges.
