Twilley and Phil Seymour first connected in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1967 after seeing A Hard Day’s Night by The Beatles. They quickly started creating songs and recording together. Over the course of the following years, they kept working together as Oister. Twilley performed all the instruments and authored all the tunes, while Seymour provided the drums and bass and both performed lead and harmony vocals.
