NHL captain and American professional ice hockey player Dylan Larkin was born on July 30, 1996. He plays for the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings selected Larkin with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Larkin played collegiate hockey for the University of Michigan, where he was voted the Freshman of the Year, before turning professional. Additionally, he was chosen for the All-Freshman Team, First Team All-Big Ten, and Second Team All-American lists.
Larkin forwent his final three seasons of eligibility at the University of Michigan when he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings on May 21, 2015. After agreeing to an amateur tryout, he was sent to the Grand Rapids Griffins, an AHL team of the Detroit Red Wings.
