Baseball coach for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB), Alyssa Nakken was born in the United States on June 13, 1990. She is the first full-time female coach in Major League Baseball history as well as the first to coach on the field during a professional game.

College softball was her sport while she was a student at California State University, Sacramento. In 2014, Nakken began working as an intern in the baseball operations division of the San Francisco Giants. She contributed to the team’s efforts to promote wellness and health.

She graduated with a master’s in sports management in 2015 from the University of San Francisco, where she also served as the baseball team’s chief information officer. She was elevated by the Giants to assistant coach status on the major league coaching staff in January 2020.
