About Eric Tweedale

Eric Tweedale found his home on the rugby field, representing the Parramatta Two Blues with distinction as far back as the 1940s.

He proudly donned the blue jersey of New South Wales and the green and gold of the Australia national rugby union team as a formidable prop.

Tweedale held the prestigious title of the oldest living Australian rugby international from May 5, 2021, to October 17, 2023.

In his retirement, he assumed the role of president for Parramatta, an embodiment of his lifelong dedication to the club.

As the patron of Parramatta Two Blues, later renamed Western Sydney Two Blues, Tweedale continued to inspire generations of rugby enthusiasts.

In 2000, his contributions were recognized with the Australian Sports Medal, and his 100th birthday saw the unveiling of the “Eric Tweedale Stadium.”
