His first marriage was to Isobel, who died in 1964. Together they had a daughter.
His second marriage was to Phyllis, who died in 2006.

Eric Tweedale found his home on the rugby field, representing the Parramatta Two Blues with distinction as far back as the 1940s.
He proudly donned the blue jersey of New South Wales and the green and gold of the Australia national rugby union team as a formidable prop.

Tweedale passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 102, but his memory and legacy lives on.
