Jalen Milroe, a freshman quarterback at Alabama, took over Bryce Young’s position as the backup. Bryce Young was a seasoned sophomore quarterback.

Why was Jalen Milroe benched?

In his collegiate career, Jalen Milroe has only had three starts, two of which were in 2023 as the backup quarterback after Bryce Young went for the NFL. But the Crimson Tide are changing their quarterback following a humiliating 34-24 loss to Texas in Week 2, which was the worse home loss in Nick Saban’s Alabama record.
