He had served one year of probation and was subjected to over 100 hours of community service.
Since then, Blackmon had not returned to the NFL.

However, in 2012, the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Blackmon with high hopes, making him the highest-drafted player from Oklahoma State since Barry Sanders in 1989.
Unfortunately, Blackmon’s potential was overshadowed by off-field issues, primarily violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
In 2013, he faced suspensions, which marred his NFL career.
Despite his talent, he was unable to overcome these obstacles and left the NFL with only 93 receptions, 1,280 receiving yards, and six touchdowns to his name.
