Dekker was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He then played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors, among other teams.

Due to a back ailment, he was forced to miss the entire 2015 NBA Summer League, although he participated in all eight of the Rockets’ preseason contests. In February 2016, Dekker later joined the Rockets D-League club Rio Grande Valley Viper for a rehab stint.
