Innocent Ujah Idibia, known popularly as 2 Baba is a Nigerian musician, songwriter, entrepreneur, philanthropist, record producer and activist.

2 Baba was born on 18th September, 1975 in Jos, Nigeria. He belongs to the Idoma Ethnic group in the Southern part of Benue State, Central Nigeria.

2 Baba Education

After his secondary school education at the Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue, he enrolled at the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) in Enugu, where he undertook his preliminary National Diploma Course in Business Administration and Management.

During his time at IMT, he made a big name for himself after performing at the school’s shows as well as other social events within the campus and beyond.

His passion for music would supersede his passion for Business Administration and Management as he later dropped out of IMT to focus on his career in music.

2 Baba Music

He adopted the stage name “2Face” in 1996 but later changed it in 2016 to 2 Baba.

In the early stages of his musical career, he partnered with rapper, Blackface Naija. Together with Blackface and Faze, they formed the trio band Plantashun Boiz.

Plantashun Boiz, however, got disbanded in 2004. After the disbandment of Plantashun Boiz, 2 Baba released his solo album Face to Face in 2004.

2 Baba released his second album, Grass 2 Grace in 2006, which contained global hits like ‘True Love’, ‘One Love’ and ‘4 Instance’.

After the release of his second album, he parted ways with Kennis Music to establish his own record label, known as Hypertek Entertainment.

in 2009, he released The Unstoppable, an experimental album which include the song, ‘Enter the Place’.

In 2010, 2 Baba released an International Edition of the aforementioned album and labelled it as ‘The Unstoppable International Edition’, which made him the first Nigerian artists to have an appropriately priced International Album.

2 Baba is married to Annie Macauley Idibia. In 2012, 2 Baba married Annie in a private ceremony. The couple are blessed with 2 girls; Olivia Idibia and Isabella Idibia. However, 2 Baba is a father of 7 kids; 5 from 2 previous relationships.

2 Baba has had some narrow escapes at the hands of death including; gunshots from an armed robbery incident which took place near Oshodi, Lagos.

2 Baba has an estimated net worth of over $16 million, placing him as one of the richest musicians in Nigeria.
