Nollywood was and is still blessed with an amazingly talented actor, Uche Odoputa, who was entertaining movie fans in Nigeria and beyond about twenty years ago.
Conceived on September 23, 1969, at Orlu, in Imo state, Uche Odoputa was known for his lover boy roles in romantic movies and he was adored for his quiet nature in his acting.

Uche Odoputa is a married man and has been blessed with children.
He was captured by authorities of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 2007 while attempting to escape to the UK with 1.336kg of Cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Uche Odoputa was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for drug trafficking and subsequent to serving his prison term, he communicated laments in his activities.
He spoke out:
“I regret my actions. I was a growing brand and a lot of people were angered by my action. I was disappointed in myself. I thank God I came out of prison a changed person.”
“It took away my career and the little name I had at that time, gaining recognition in Nollywood and even among my colleagues has been a struggle since then.”

However, Uche Odoputa is no longer active in the film industry. He is now into jobs that keep him out of the homes and screens of Nigerian households.
